GROUP THERAPY

Perceptions are powerful forces that shape our understanding of the world. Attempts to describe the world outside of ourselves are inevitably filtered through our perceptions, revealing more about our own inner world than of external reality.

If you are someone who feels alone or isolated, or wants to connect with others who share similar journeys, group therapy might be a valuable resource for you.

Group therapy is a powerful way to explore personal challenges and experiences. By interacting with others who are dealing with similar issues, you may notice differences in coping mechanisms and communication styles that can offer new perspectives and insights. Group therapy creates a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and receive feedback from both your therapist and peers.

Sharing your experiences and emotions with others who better understand what you’re going through can be a powerful source of comfort and validation, as well as an opportunity to learn from the experiences of others and gain new perspectives on your own situation. Group therapy can help you develop new coping skills, build stronger relationships, and gain a greater understanding of yourself and your place in the world.

Concerned about confidentiality in a group setting?

Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of therapy, and ensuring the confidentiality of my clients is a top priority for me. I understand that confidentiality is a major concern for many clients, especially those who are new to group therapy. In my group therapy sessions, I take a proactive approach and emphasise the importance of respecting the privacy and confidentiality of other group members. I also make it clear that any breaches of confidentiality will not be tolerated.

NEW THERAPY GROUPS STARTING IN MAY 2023

anxiety support group

Anxiety can impact all aspects of your life, from your relationships to your work to your overall sense of well-being. Maybe you're finding it hard to concentrate at work because of intrusive thoughts, or perhaps you're avoiding social situations because you're worried about how others will perceive you. Whatever your particular challenges may be, know that you're not alone in your struggles. Many people who experience anxiety report feeling like they're stuck in a cycle of worry and fear, and it can be difficult to break free from these patterns on your own.

Group therapy can be a highly effective way to manage anxiety. By coming together with others who are experiencing similar challenges, individuals can find validation, support, and practical tools for coping with anxiety in everyday life. It's an opportunity to reduce feelings of isolation and anxiety while gaining valuable insights into the root causes of anxiety. Besides, group therapy enables individuals to develop interpersonal skills like communication, assertiveness, and empathy, which are crucial to reducing anxiety in social situations and building more fulfilling relationships.

In addition to these benefits, group therapy can also be a powerful tool for promoting diversity and inclusion. Bringing together people from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, creates an environment where everyone can feel heard, valued, and accepted, which can be particularly helpful for individuals who feel marginalised or excluded due to anxiety.

With a maximum of 6 participants, my group sessions are designed to be intimate and effective, giving you plenty of individual attention and time for group discussion. We meet Wednesdays at 6pm for 100 minutes, providing sufficient time to explore crucial topics and establish valuable relationships with other participants. If you're struggling with anxiety and are interested in learning more about how group therapy can help, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Dating, Sex & Attachment Group

When it comes to dating, sex, and attachment issues, many of us could use a little extra support. It's not uncommon to find ourselves in different romantic relationships over time, yet still experiencing the same patterns and struggles. Whether it's difficulty with communication, a tendency to attract the wrong types of partners, or a lack of clarity about what we truly want, these issues can persist even as we move from one relationship to another. It can be frustrating and disheartening, but the good news is that with the right support, it's possible to break these patterns and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships. That's where the group therapy option comes in.

In my group therapy sessions, you'll have the opportunity to connect with others who are experiencing similar challenges. You will be able to exchange your experiences and insights with each other, which will provide you with valuable perspectives and support throughout the process. Additionally, group therapy can provide a safe, supportive environment where you can explore some of the underlying factors that may be contributing to your relationship difficulties, such as past trauma or negative self-talk.

These sessions are designed to be intimate and effective, with a maximum of 6 participants per group, allowing for plenty of individual attention and group discussion time. We meet Mondays at 1pm for 100 minutes, giving you enough time to delve into important issues and develop meaningful connections with others in the group.
